How To Make Sure Your Dog Gets Plenty of Exercise

Once you get home, it will be just nice to just relax and relieve your stress from the outside. What is even better? Having your dog meeting you once you got home and is genuinely happy to see you. It is truly a great joy.

With all these feelings aside, you have the responsibility of taking care of your pet. Just like us humans, they have their basic needs. They will definitely need food and water. A good shelter will be very beneficial for them because they will surely be taken care of. They also need exercise so that it will keep them fit.

Get your dog moving with these simple ways:

1. Play Catch

Dogs would always want your attention, and they are also active animals. A good old-fashioned game of catch or fetch will be a good enough activity to have them moving. The beauty of this is you do not have to go far. In fact, you can do it inside of your own home. You will just need some ball or their favorite toy. If you have a yard, you can make it more physical by having some frisbees or sticks.

2. Go to Parks

Another way is going to parks. Even if you have them on their daily walks, it is still different when they get to a park. In it, they will get to meet other people and other dogs. If your dog is a friendly one, they will tend to play with them. You can also play some catch there. Also, dogs tend to be curious, so they would likely go sniff around and try to discover and see things that will fascinate them.

3. Flight of Stairs

To add more challenge, you can make them run up and down the stairs. It does not matter if it is in your home or your apartment building or even nearby parks, you can have this as their activity. You can do this by playing an updated version of fetch. You can also have their favorite toy and throwing it up and down. You can also have exercise by having them follow you.

4. Exercise with Them

Exercise is also one of our needs to be fit and healthy. Take this opportunity for you to have some workout too. It could be as simple as going out for a run or walk around your favorite route. You can also take it to the next level and go for some hikes. It does not even need to be long. You can just take some short ones during weekends, and it would be enough.

5. Let Them Accompany

If you are going somewhere like a beach or any other place that pets are allowed, let them accompany you. This way, you will not only be alone, but they are also able to get around. There is also what you called resistance to walk wherein they will walk around sand or snow or other trails that are more challenging for them.
