1. Walleye

But because of its oily nature, it is also rich in cholesterol. Salmon are majorly prepared by canning and smoking but can also be grilled, baked, and even fried.

Catfish live in coastal and inland waters in many regions around the globe apart from Antarctica waters. Among the catfish species, the most favorite to catch is the channel catfish for they are the easiest. Catfish can be fried or baked. It is a fish that is bony with a firm texture. People have mixed views about the flavor. Some find it a delicacy while others consider its excellent food.

Bass is one of the sport fish which means if you will catch one, it will be a prize. Many kinds of bass can be found on both saltwater and freshwater. The largemouth is one of the most popular sport fish and is found in shallow water covers and around mass patches of aquatic vegetation. They are tasty especially if they from clear, cold and clean water. They are large and flaky, so they are often filleted but can be still cooked in different ways.

6. Bluegill

A native to North America and lives in streams, ponds, rivers, and lakes. It is said to be the easiest to catch but also tricky because they are fast at changing directions. They would live in either shallow or deep waters and can be found hanging around underwater structures or tree stumps. They also like to reside among aquatic plants and find shelter under the tree shades along river banks. The most popular way to cook them is by pan-frying though they can also be filleted.
